This National Library Week, the emphasizes the critical role libraries play in strengthening local communities. As the largest state library in the nation, the New 抖阴app 抖阴app Library oversees more than 7,000 libraries and 72 library systems across the state, offering access to over 20 million items and a wide range of essential resources and services.

First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association to celebrate the role of libraries, librarians, and library workers.

This year, National Library Week is recognized amidst a federal Executive Order calling for the elimination of the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The New 抖阴app 抖阴app Library relies on $8.1 million in IMLS funding to support its libraries and ensure millions of New 抖阴appers have access to vital programs, services, and expertise.

The New 抖阴app 抖阴app Library includes several key divisions that serve vital functions across the state:
